adherence to fire regulations is more critical than ever. Fire code officials
are now requiring that the composite structure of the entire wall system be
tested for surface burning characteristics. The FABRITRAK® System,
with its component parts and subsurfaces, carries a Class A rating in accordance
with ASTM E84-70 and ASTM E84-81A Tunnel Tests.

TESTING SAMPLES
3/8 FABRITRAK® System mounted on A/C board consisting of rigid
vinyl FABRITRAK® framed perimeter, FABRITRAK® polyester
acoustical subsurface material and Guilford Mills FR701 polyester face material.
TEST PROCEDURE
The tunnel was thoroughly pre-heated by burning natural gas. When the brick
temperature, sensed by a floor thermocouple has reached the prescribed 105oF
plus or minus 5oF level, the sample was inserted in the tunnel
and the test was conducted in accordance with the standard ASTM E84-81A procedures.
The operation of the tunnel was checked by performing a 10 minute test with
A/C board on the same day as the test.
TEST RESULTS
The test results, calculated in accordance with ASTM E84-70 and ASTM E84-81A
for flame spread and smoke developed values are as follows:
